M.I.A. Goes in on Lady Gaga

Songwriter/producer/musician M.I.A recently spoke out on how she feels about fellow Pop singer LADY GAGA's rapid rise to superstardom. Mathangi Maya Arulpragasam, most known simply by her stage name M.I.A. said that she thinks that Gaga is simply a mimic of whats been done before, adding that her music isnt truly genuine. She says all of this in her cover issue for NME Magazine, a British publication.

"People say were similar, that we both mix all these things in the pot and spit them out differently, she said, but she spits it out exactly the same. None of her musics reflective of how weird she wants to be or thinks she is."

She added: "She models herself on Grace Jones and Madonna but the music sounds like 20 year-old Ibiza disco. Shes not progressive, but shes a good mimic. She sounds more like me than I f**king do! Thats a talent but shes the industrys last stab at making itself important."
